Events on these maps of 2013 are preliminary only, some have been reviewed, but generally all are subject to revision, addition or deletion as further reviewed over time.
Geonet introduced a new earthquake recording system on Sept 1st 2012 called SeisComP3. This system records automatically. What this has done is put approx three times (30-40) extra quakes per day on the database, way higher figures than previously on the Magma database, and more in line with the numbers per day when the old Magma database revisions come out months following.
