  1. Morning HighAce.Have really enjoyed your daily reports. Appreciate being in the lopp too. However the 11.11.10 which should have shown the Taupo swarm that day have no orbs. Can you resend please? Look forward to it Cheers jlm

  2. Hi John, I thought of you when these started off, did you feel any of them?
I’m not sure what happened with the orb markers, 3 of those events were the red i marker with felt reports behind them, some times they load first, sometimes they are last to load on. The markers are stored on another site called dropbox.com, if they are having technical problems then my markers won’t show on any of the maps.
All looks fine at my end today.

  3. It would appear then that dropbox .com are having problems as none of the maps are showing the orbs. We didn’t feel the earthquakes here but I have contacts in Oruanui Rd who did. Are these connected to the fault through Tukairangi Rd area?

  4. Thats strange, I can see them. Do you allow time to let them all load? there are 12 maps to load on the page, they start loading randomly but the last to load is usually the last days map. You could try clicking on the blue text “view larger map” under the day you want to look at and see if they load on that, there should be a list on the left hand side as well. Sometimes deleting cookies will reset everything and start the loading of maps and pictures afresh.
I’m not sure about the connection with Tukairangi Rd, will have a look later and let you know.

  5. Highace! We’re back on track again tonight AT LAST! TuKairangi is where the swarm was last Nov/Dec – Are these recent ones part of the extended Karapiti fault which come off the Kaiapo fault. Some think that they were associated with the Geothermal Power Project of Contact Energy. However they are drilling up to 2km deep near the area. With all the Geothermal project we will soon have up to 10 geothermal generation sites in Taupo including Might River Power’s projects as well.
    Must go

  6. Yeah it looks like those were on the Kaiapo Fault.
It will be interesting to see if the drilling does result in more earthquakes.
I followed a similar geothermal power site in the US for a while to see what was going on, called the Geysers.
Heres a link to the site about the Calpine project http://www.geysers.com/
then compare the USGS lists /map for the area, http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Maps/US2/38.40.-124.-122.php for the map and http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Maps/US2/38.40.-124.-122_eqs.php for the list of quakes.
There are quakes there every day.
